Japanese Textiles Ornaments

We've adapted the detailing from two striking Japanese garments on this pair of ornaments, presented in a giftable canister. The green ornament is inspired by a thickly padded kimono-shaped coverlet called a yogi (19th century), which was used for sleeping on cold winter nights. The red ornament celebrates a type of samurai woman's over robe known as an uchikake (late 18th century), the color of which indicates that it was made for a young woman.
