Artist: Vincent van Gogh Created: 1888 Dimensions (cm): 91 x 72 Format: Oil on canvas  Location: Neue Pinakothek, Munich   In 1888, Van Gogh began painting a series of works to decorate his studio and celebrate the arrival of his friend Paul Gaugin to Arles. The work sculpts the flower petals and creates a basket-weave pattern on the painting as the artist uses vivid colours such as yellow and blue that are overall heightened by the large yellow vase, which we translated onto our design. Unfortunately, due to a falling-out with Gaugin (rumour has it), after which Van Gogh sliced off his own earlobe in a paranoid panic, the artist was never able to decorate his studio.
